Louise (Brubaker) Petre

Louise (Brubaker) Petre of Kellnersville, WI was born on April 28, 1974 in Ephrata, PA to Paul and Mabel (Nolt) Brubaker. When she was 4 weeks old her family moved to Curtiss, Wisconsin. Her parents joined the Unity Mennonite Church. Seven years later the family served 1-1/2 years in Dominican Republic. Soon after coming back from DR they moved to Athens to help begin a church there. With 6 brothers and 11 years between her and her next younger sister, her life was busy helping her mother for the next 17 years. She worked at Rod and Staff Publishers for 6 years. Kevin also worked at Rod and Staff and that contributed to a growing interest in Louise that blossomed into marriage on September 29, 2006. They lived at Crockett, Kentucky for eleven years, then moved to Kellnersville in December 2017. Louise enjoyed being a homemaker and poured herself into the needs of her family. She also had an avid interest in birdwatching and loved to read new books.

In September 2023 she was diagnosed with cancer. After a short battle with cancer she passed away on January 18, 2024 at the age of 49 years and 8 months. She was a member of the Lakeside Mennonite Church at Mishicot WI. Louise will be greatly missed by her husband and family, but we rejoice that she can be at rest with Jesus.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Kevin Petre, 2 sons, Lamar-16 and Sylvan-10 at home, her parents Paul and Mabel Brubaker of Oconto WI, 5 brothers, Mervin (Tonya) Brubaker of Bryant, WI, Nelson (Bethany) of Lena,WI, Dwight (Renita) of Manitowoc, WI, Stephen (Emmy) of Oconto,WI, Dean (Doreen) of Augusta, WI, 5 sisters, Christina (Evan) Beachy of Oconto, WI, Lucinda, Naomi, Anita, and Glenda Brubaker, all of Oconto, WI.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her brother Lamar Brubaker, and nephew Rylan Brubaker.

Visiting hours are Jan. 26, 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral: Jan 27 at 10:00 a.m. all held at Lakeside Mennonite Church 722 Hillview Rd. Mishicot WI.

The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
