Lorna C. Skubal

November 5, 1930 — March 20, 2025

Mishicot

Lorna Skubal, age 94, formerly of Mishicot, passed away peacefully March 20, 2025, with her loving family at her side. Lorna was born November 5, 1930, to the late Alvin and Christine Petersen of Denmark.

She married the late Glen Skubal September 2, 1950. He preceded her in death October 20, 2006. Together they raised 10 children.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Mishicot. Mom worked on the family farm alongside Glen for almost 50 years, and also worked at Krause’s Grocery Store in Mishicot for over 20 years when she didn’t have anything else to do.

Mom and Dad enjoyed going to dances and playing in several card clubs. She also loved playing bingo and trivia. Most of all, Mom truly cherished time spent with family and never missed an opportunity to attend a family gathering. Mom always had a lovely way of making you feel special, no matter who she was in the company of.

She is survived by her nine children: Sandra (James) Schultz, Karen Taddy, Anthony Skubal, Kathleen Skubal, Andrew Skubal, David (Jerilyn) Skubal, Gary Skubal, Patricia (Scott) Meneau, Charles (fiancé, Lisa) Skubal, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with another due in July. Brother Claude (Judy) Petersen, sister-in-law Bernadine Wachtel.

She was preceded in death by her husband Glen, an infant daughter, Susan, Daughters-in-law Kelly Skubal and Ann Skubal, grandson Casey Meneau; Great Grandson Thomas Anderson; Sisters Mae (Henry) Vandenbush, Linda (Eldor) Engelbrecht, Brother Donald (Dorothy) Petersen. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Joyce (Clarence) Thompson, Mercedes (Lester) Wilda, Arlene (Herman) Roepke, Doris (Frank) Hamernik, Joseph Wachtel.
