John was born in Marinette, WI on March 11, 1949 to Merle and Geraldine (Losch) Arkens. He was a 1967 graduate of Mishicot High School, then furthered his education at Lakeshore Technical College, and is also a United States Army Veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War. Throughout the years, John remained very active and involved in the community.
