Joan M. Brouchoud

Joan M. Brouchoud, age 90, lifelong resident of Mishicot, died early Wednesday morning, December 13, 2023 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

Joan was born in Mishicot on October 16, 1933 to Irvin P. and Gertrude M. (Hoff) Scheuer. She graduated from Mishicot High School with the class of 1951. On September 28, 1957 she married Lloyd T. Brouchoud at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. Lloyd preceded her in death on October 9, 2017. Joan worked at Mirro Aluminum, Fox Hills Resort, and will be remembered by most as the kitchen supervisor at the Mishicot High School cafeteria where she worked many years until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church; she enjoyed all local sports teams, baking, and cooking. Above all, she treasured the time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Pat and Terri Brouchoud, Terri Brouchoud, Lori and Terry Jansky, Kim and Todd Funk, all of Mishicot; three grandchildren: Kristin (John) Biely, Brady Brouchoud, Brogan Brouchoud; and two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Kylie Biely. She is further survived by one sister-in-law, Dolly Scheuer of Mishicot; one brother-in-law, Barney Cisler of Larrabee; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Gertrude Scheuer; her husband, Lloyd; one daughter, Diane (Al) Blashka; one son, Bob Brouchoud; and her siblings: Mickie (Ed) Juckem, Frank (Mary) Scheuer, Jeanette (Albert) Hansen, John Scheuer, Katie (Vern) Pautz, Pat Scheuer, and Mike Scheuer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Christian Raj, with burial of her cremated remains to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Wednesday morning from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.
