Gordon A. "Gordy" Boettcher, age 75, town of Gibson resident, passed away at home Wednesday morning, August 21, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Gordy was born on June 22nd, 1949 to Alvin and Olive (Worel) Boettcher and has been a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Mishicot High School with the class of 1967 then furthered his education to earn a machinist degree in 1969. On September 4, 1971, he was united in marriage to Darlene A. Klein at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot. The couple was blessed with just shy of 53 years of marriage and 4 children. Gordy worked at Mirro Aluminum for 37 years followed by 6 years at Koenig and Vitz before his retirement. He enjoyed camping, gardening, golf cart rides with the boys, and spending time with his family, especially with his "little Poopsey". Above all, he loved to watch & feed his birds. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene; his children: Brenda (Tom) Hoppmann of Valders, Brian (Angie) Boettcher, Bruce Boettcher (special friend, Jackie) all of Mishicot, and Bridget (Steve) Doolittle of Valders; his grandchildren: Ashley (Sam) Adams, Paige (Ethan) Engel, Travis Boettcher, Brandon (Hannah) Boettcher, Kirsten Boettcher, Dawson Boettcher, Madelyn Doolittle, Mason Doolittle; and his great-granddaughter, Scarlett "Poopsey" Adams. He is further survived by one brother & two sisters-in-law: Eddie (Penny) Boettcher and Karen Boettcher; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from Darlene's family: Clarence Klein, Francis (Cheryl) Klein, Larry (Nancy) Klein, Caroline (Jeff) Anhalt, and Nancy Klein; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ernie and Alvin Boettcher; three sisters & brothers-in-law: Elaine (Vince) Posvic, Lorraine (Walter) Goessl, and Dolores (Ed) Knapp; brother-in-law, Dennis Klein and sister-in-law, Kathy Klein.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gibson. Rev. James Heffner will preside at the service, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John's Lutheran Church, Gibson, Wednesday morning, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.
