Erwin J. Lambert, longtime Mishicot resident, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, February 13, 2024 at the age of 88.
He was born on Christmas Day, 1935, to Edward and Vera (Waegli) Lambert. After graduating with the class of 1953 from Mishicot High School, he proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army (1955-57). Upon his return he married Carol Mae Steeber at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kellnersville. They supported each other through 58 years of marriage until her passing in 2018.
Erwin was honored to have served his community for over 30 years as the owner of Lambert Funeral Home in Mishicot, and proud to be a 50 year member of the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association. He also served as an elected official and board member of various civic organizations.
He is survived by his children: Michael (Mary) Lambert of Manitowoc, Cheryl (Paul) Korinek of West Bend, and Colleen (Gary) Nichols of Bonney Lake, WA; seven grandchildren: Stephanie (Ben) Peters, Jessica (Jordan) Erdmann, Tomerot Lambert (fiancee, Raven Beringer), Chombi Lambert, Kelley Korinek, Rick Korinek, and Greg Korinek; and four great-grandchildren: Joanna and Ben Erdmann; Jake and Joe Peters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Vera Lambert; his wife, Carol; his sister, Audrey Dutton; and the Steeber and Zeman brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2024 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 423 S. Main Street, Mishicot. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Christian Raj, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Monday morning from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation.
