Elsie L. Krajnik

March 6, 1933 — December 23, 2021

On December 23, 2021, Elsie Lorraine (née Dollar) Krajnik passed away peacefully at 88 years old at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, surrounded by her family. Elsie was a resident of Felician Village in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Elsie was born on March 6, 1933, on the Dollar farm in De Pere, Wisconsin, to the late George and Mary (née Hecker) Dollar. She was educated at De Pere country schools and East De Pere High School. She met the love of her life, Donald Edward Krajnik, at her sister’s wedding, and they were married on May 26, 1954.

Donald and Elsie resided in Mishicot for the next 66 years, where she devoted herself to her family, church, and community. She was an active parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church and was a member of the altar society and choir, a catechist for religious education, and served school lunches. In 2000, Elsie and Donald began the first Friday devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which they led for 20 years. Elsie was also a member of the Mishicot Homemakers Sunset Club and Meals on Wheels. Of all her accomplishments, Elsie was most proud of her 12 children, 45 grandchildren, and 50 great-grandchildren.

Elsie’s hobbies included gardening, canning, baking, and painting. She was well known for her homemade rolls, having made thousands of rolls over the years for family gatherings. She was also famous for making countless dozens of cookies and giving them to anyone who visited. Elsie also canned hundreds of quarts of dill pickles, which were popular at church auctions. She immensely enjoyed family gatherings and 30 years of family campouts.

Elsie is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Donald; her children: Katherine (Lloyd) Butler and their children Sean, Nathan, Aaron, Adriana, Melinda, Stephanie, Gabriel, Abraham, Daniel, Abigail, and April; Paul (Rosemary) Krajnik and their children Matthew, Andrew, Adam, David, Kevin, and Jason; Barbara (Gregory) Reistad and their children Nicholas, Rebecca, and Michelle; Ann (Terry) Wallander and their children Jill, Zachary, and Christianna; Jeffrey Krajnik and his sons Jacob and Jeremiah, Tom (Myrna) Krajnik and their children Samuel, Kenneth, and Elizabeth; Eileen (Daniel) Gunderson and their daughter Arielle; Theresa (David) Nadolski and their children Erica, Grace, and Basil; Ronald (Diana) Krajnik and their children Azrianna, Isabella, Sarah, Emma, and Noah; Sarah (Jeffery Nelson) Krajnik and their daughters Ariana and Emily; Patrick (Angela) Krajnik and their children Christopher, Maxwell, Alyssa, and Justin; and Brian Krajnik; three of her sisters: Rita Lacenski, Leona Beining, and Joan (Richard) Mauer; and her brother-in-law Patrick Henning and sister-in-law Elizabeth Voelker.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, George and Mary Dollar; four of her sisters: Arlene Thomas, Angela Roffers, Gladys Diny, and Jan Henning; her brothers-in-law Cyril Thomas, Bernard Lacenski, Robert Roffers, Joseph Diny, Cliff Beining, and Robert Voelker; and two grandchildren: Aubrae Gunderson and Christopher Reistad.

Viewings will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 423 S. Main Street, Mishicot, Wisconsin, on Thursday, December 30th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, December 31st, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 31st, at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.
