Elda J. Fleck

Elda J. Fleck, age 99, former Mishicot resident, passed away Tuesday afternoon October 3, 2023 at Lakehouse Assisted Living in Lake Mills, WI.

Elda was born in Sheboygan on September 29, 1924 to Emil and Agusta (Eisenhardt) Schmidt. She attended schools in Sheboygan. On December 7, 1947 she married Marvin W. Fleck in Sheboygan. The couple moved to Mishicot in 1948, and Marvin preceded her in death on October 22, 2016. Elda worked for many years as a waitress at Fox Hills where she was known as "Elda-Berry", the favorite waitress. She also worked at Mirro Aluminum for many years.

Elda was always proud to be remembered as the flyer in "The Marvels", a Teeter Board Act that performed across the United States. The Marvels can also be seen in the background of the Bob Hope movie, "Here Come the Girls". Elda was a member of the Mishicot VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and longtime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. She loved reading; giving her family a hard-time; and treasured the time spent with her family especially her grandkids.

She is survived by her children: Marvin (Donna) Fleck of West Bend, Dr. Steven (Maelu) Fleck of Colorado, Susan (Jeff) Guth of Larsen, WI, and Lisa (Ken) Thiel of Watertown; five grandchildren: Kevin Fleck, Sara (Chad) Sigl, Amber (Robert) Ryan, Cassandra (Dr. Jason) Habeck, Abigail Thiel; and her great-grandchildren: Owen, Kya, William, Alexander, Henry, Margot, and Hallie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Agusta Schmidt; husband, Marvin W. Fleck; one son, Glenn Fleck; a granddaughter, Jessica Guth; a grandson, Brian Fleck; her father-in-law & mother-in-law, John and Alvina Fleck; and her brothers & sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2023 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 325 Randolph Street, Mishicot. Rev. Joel Stuebs will officiate at the service, with burial to follow in the Mishicot Public Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Monday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
